North American
Missions Board
The North American Missions Board is the national outreach and
evangelism tool of the Southern Baptist Convention. It's
primary goal is to plant churches in areas without an ongoing
witness. NAMB employs over 5,000 missionaries both full-time
and partially supported to accomplish this goal.
Our church partnered with Escatawpa Baptist Church in the spring of
2006 to work on neighboring homes affected by Hurricane Katrina.
We wired homes, finished sheetrock, painted, and anything else we
could do to help the residents get back on their feet.
One of the things that we all observed was the level of destruction
that was still everywhere that many months after the devastating
hurricane. But we also witnessed other church groups there
offering their help to the residents in the name of Christ.
Continue to pray for the residents of Mississippi and New Orleans
as they rebuild in the aftermath of the nation's worst hurricane in
history.
